Finances

This study will transform your life and finances as you learn what God says about handling money. The way most people handle money stands in contrast to God’s financial principles.

The most significant difference between the two, is that the Bible reveals God is closely involved with our finances. Many people fail to realize it because he has chosen to be invisible to us and operate in the unseen supernatural realm.

More than 2,350 verses address God’s way of handling money and possessions. Also, fifteen percent of everything Jesus Christ said has to do with money- how we view it and how we handle it. Jesus made such a major point of teaching these things for three reasons:

1. How we handle money impacts our fellowship with the Lord

We may think that we can separate our spiritual lives and our financial lives into two different compartments but Jesus equates how we handle money with the equality of our spiritual life. If we handle money according to the principles of scripture, we will enjoy closer fellowship with Christ.

Luke 16:11

“So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?"

2. Money and possessions compete with God for first place in our lives

Jesus tells us we must choose to serve only one of these two masters. Lots of people have the attitude that God may be Lord of their entire life except in the area of money.

Matthew 6:24

"You can not serve God and be enslaved to money"

3. God wants us to be money smart

The Lord also talked so much about money because he knew that from time-to-time money problem would be a challenge for all of us. Stress and confusion in this area of life can impact our marriage, our family life, our happiness, and even our health. Because he loves and cares for us so deeply, he wanted to equip us to make the wisest possible financial decisions.

What we must realize is God has a role in our finances but so do we. Keep in mind Ladies that gaining financial wisdom is a lifelong journey. When we learn God's responsibilities and our own, we will experience contentment, hope, and confidence about our financial future.

1 Chronicles 29:11-12

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.”
